Question Are Ultimate Ears Super Fi 3 suitable for me?

Needing a new set of headphones after ripping two sets of cx300's. x2

Im generally an RnB/hip hop listener and i do like my bass.
I have said to myself i want to try something different to the cx300's. I do commute a lot so noise isolation is a given, i was very tempted to make the UE super Fi 3 pirchase but i noticed on their website they recommend for classical music listeners!
Not sure if they are gonna provide the sound im looking for. My budget was around £50 (u know how it is, hard time for students).

Any other suggestions would be appreciated, have been looking into the Denon C551, bit out my price range but tempting, the Shure SE110's, v-moda vibes cause they well sexy, and the etymotic er6's..........

Any input is much appreciated

They should be suitable for you technically as these ones reviewed here are meant to sound really bassy and good

Goldring GX200 is a bassy earphone (£40 from Play) and a step up from the CX300. Try a search here, I think there is a review.

The Denon's will be great earphones - I have the C700, which are phenomenal for the price, the bass may be a little tight for you. The C551 is supposed to be very similar with slightly less detail and heavier bass.

Re: Are Ultimate Ears Super Fi 3 suitable for me?

The Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pro earphones are excellent headphones and the dual drivers help give them a bigger bottom end.

If you really do like the bass strong then another option is the Xtrememac FS1 earphones, which are actually re-branded Future Sonic Atrio's. These earphones have a really nice low end kick that should satisfy any basshead.

If those FS1s are the same phone as M5/M8, that is a cracking price.

Re: Are Ultimate Ears Super Fi 3 suitable for me?

thanks for the info people, i've taken the plunge and gone for..................... the Denon AHC-551, paying nearly 3 and a half times more i did for the cx300's. It had gotten to a point where enough is enough i miss some quality and these £4.99 philips were stressing me. Personally i've always loved the build quality of denon products, so i was happy making my choice, they will arrive this evening when my brother picks them up from work. So will get back on my findings

I'm very interested to hear your feedback on the Denons as we don't stock them yet and are considering it.

Re: Are Ultimate Ears Super Fi 3 suitable for me?

Be sure to burn them in for a while. I found the bass to be too boomy initially. The whole phone smooths out a lot after about ~70hrs burn in.
