I've got some Bose earbuds, the best earphones I've ever used (as opposed to full headphones), if fact there were some for sale in the classifieds at the weekend & I nearly bought a second set

Denon AH-C700 available for £69.99 from iHeadphones.
I have a set on order. Reading opinions over on HeadFi, you'll need to pay twice the price to find something near the quality of these canalphones.
If you are willing to pay £100 for a pair, you should consider the sound you want from earphones, as many have their own sound signature and while the quality may be excellent, the balance of the phone may not appeal to you.

I travel frequently and needed something with noise cancellation. I bought a set of audio technicas for $160 from amazon. User reviews rate these much higher than a similar Blose set and they were less than half the price of the Blose. I am very happy with them.

At HiFi Headphones we're not big fans of Bose as they are generally overpriced and the build quality isn't great on some models.
If you are looking for earphones for the iPod or iTouch I can highly recommend Shure SE310's or Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pro's. Both are excellent earphones for the money. The bass response is a little better on the SE310's, but the UE's have a better overall sound in my personal opinion.

sorry for hijacking this but didn't want to start another thread.
my Sony MDR-D66 have given up the ghost this morning after 5 years excellent service, unfortunately they're not made any more, so looking for advice on something similar.
seen a few reviews of sony's updated versions
Sony MDR-D777SL Altus HD Headphones (at least i think this is the updated version) and they're not getting as good reviews.
What I'm looking for is something that will play an odd mix of music through my creative zen 60gb without annoying anyone else on the bus beside me, also found the D66's great for on flights too and that is as well built as the D66 and that will last nearly as long. Oh and that are Headphones not in-ear yokies, don't mind looking like a geek wearing them!
Willing to pay around €120/$160/£100stg.
Any advice?

if you don't want anyone else hearing then you need closed phones. if you don't want in ear then i'd say sennheiser hd280;s. have a pair an they are good, prefer my grado's, but the grado's are open
