Why won't Sennheiser make headphones higher end than HD650s

I see alot of headphone company are making headphones at very high prices (which sometimes there good sometimes there not) but im surprised at Sennheiser don't make headphone post £200. Its a prett low pricemark when you think about it and I would love to see some £500 Sennheiser "The Ultimates" HD-850

Beyerdynamic also stop around the £200 price mark with the DT990. I guess there's no mileage in them pursueing a flagship model which is unlikely to make back it's costs or the time put in.

Having said that, I've got DT990s and they sound great - as do the HD650s.

What, the Sennheiser Orpheus isn't sufficiently high-end for you?!

True, the Orpheus has been discontinued now. But, when brand new, it still sold for £10,000.

I did once listen to the Orpheus at a hi-fi show - if memory serves, it cost around £9,000 at the time. It did sound rather good - that said, it should have done!

I heard the Orpheus a few times. I much prefer my own Stax Lambdas.

Possibly hifi's best example of diminishing returns and how you do not get what you pay for.
