Durable Surround Sound Headphones

No, not the 5.1 sets. I had several pairs of them and managed to break them all within months of each other (though the zalman's were comfy). I ended up with IcematAudio Siberia (now steelseries siberia) headphones, the sound quality isn't great but apart from the volume control going they've not broken on me after a couple of years.

But now I'm looking for a nicer set.

They'll be used on PC and my current sound card is an audigy 2 zs but I'll probably be upgrading to an x-fi XtremeGamer since the positional sound is apparently a lot better. Use is general gaming so instrumental/orchestral music, ambient sounds and sound effects, positional audio and dialogue are important.

Durability and long use comfort (several hours) are both absolutely essential. A long warranty to back up the durability would be a nice extra.

Wireless and a microphone would both be plusses but seem unlikely to happen.

I'd like to spend about £60 but I'd go up to about £100 for something that really hit the spot. Could anyone recommend me some possible headphones?

Also, is there any sort of headphone shop price comparison site? The usual ones don't seem to cover many audio shops. If not then perhaps someone could point out some generally cheap stores to find headphones in?

EDIT: I don't really like the look on the Sennheisers, but I'd consider them if they were the best option for what I'm looking for.

Re: Durable Surround Sound Headphones

Maybe I should clarify what I mean by durable. I'm just looking for a pair for home use, not any sort of industrial site, so they just need to survive being knocked off a desk and having the cable run over by a chair castor. The previous pairs have tended to snap on the headband a bit above the earcups (on their own, not after being hit by anything), and a couple developed intermittant connections in the wiring.

It may be that I've been unlucky or that gamer headsets tend to be poorly built (although I didn't take them to even a single lanparty) but it must be that some headsets feel more sturdy than others.

If durability is hard to tell then recommendations on headphones good for ambient sounds/sound effects would also be appreciated.
