Hey, I was looking to buy some headphones for my computer because I don't have the luxury of being able to buy speakers due to proximity to other people . These headphones will be mostly for gaming, so they must be comfortable. I was looking at the Audio-technica's AD700/900/1000. The 700's I can find for 138(before duty), the 1000's for around 240(before duty) and I havent really looked around for the 900's yet. Which is the best headphones for my needs? I've heard lots of good things about the 700's, but haven't seen much about the 1000's. If there are any other opinions on a better set of headphones let me know too!

I purchased the Sennheiser HD555's for about $100 and they're great! Check Amazon.com and read the reviews too, I'm not alone when I say they're awesome.

However, since your budget is a little bigger you could always upgrade them to the HD 595's

My friend bought the AD700's for Halo 3 and he loves them. I listened to music on them and they sound pretty awesome too.

Sennheiser HD650 for 210EUR in Germany.
Will sound ok with a regular headphone output, great with a cheap headphone amplifier and then scale with the quality of the amplifier (and source, of course) to the highest-endish level (if you allow for the non-existent expression).

Note that, if you do not want to leak sound to your surroundings, you'll need to look at something else, that is, closed designs.
