Panasonic surround sound 'phones

Model number is RP WF600T. Very difficult to find over here or on the web... I got these as an incentive award from where I work but I have a bit of trouble.

You see, the only connection they have - for surround sound at least - is optical digital. Obviously, this need a DA out from the appliance I'm using them on - a Panasonic DVD recorder. However, this has no digital out.

I'm screwed aren't I?
