now need a new pair but a bit hesitant after this bad experience. anyone else have a similar experience or know of some that can get a better fit/bass?
weirdly, my sony HPM-75 headphones for my mobile phone were far far better with good bass (though pos a bit muddy) but was powerful and deep, which is crucial for me. do the sony have better buds? i'm wondering if anyone else has found these type of sony's to be better than the cx300 or whether i really need to look down the custom moulding path ...which as you can tell by me buying the cx300 i'm sure i can't really afford |
Funnily enough I had exactly the same experience. Switching from the HPM-75 Sony's to the CX300's I found the bass much less satifsying on the CX300's. However the mid and trebble were an awful lot clearer and more detailed, which matters more to me than bass, so I'm sticking with the CX300's (not fakes either). I also found that I couldn't get the CX300 earbuds to fit, so I swapped them with the silicon buds from the HPM-75 Sony's and now they're a perfect fit (the earbids on the CX300's are a bit too rounded to fit snuggly in my ears, but fortunately they'll fir buds from other in-ear headphones).
My conclusion is that Sony went for all out for bass (which can make cheaper headphones sound 'impressive') whereas Senheiser went for a more rounded but clearer sound, so sacrificed some bass in the process.
Would be interested to try the Goldrings... how is the mid and trebble when compared to the CX300's?
