Headphone phono connection

Hi Guys and Gals,

A quick and easy Question.

I have just upgraded my TV, my old one was 10yrs old, though a good Toshiba, the reason for change was the sound had been giving me problems.

I used Headphones for gaming, as not to bother the rest of the house hold, so alot of putting in a pulling out of the phono connection in the TV, so with the sound problems, to sort it out I had to start fiddling with the headphone connection in the TV, then the sound just went on Xmas Eve. This had happened over the last 18 months, started gaming 2.5 to 3 years ago.

Do you know if this is a common fault as I am not happy using Headphones in my new TV as not wanting this to happen again.

Hope this makes sence, Cheers
