Smile Sennheiser 595 - anygood?

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Elec...s/Product.html
I bought a pair of Sony mdr-v7000dj headphones (as my mate is a DJ and i'd tried them - but they're a little bit too warm after long periods of time)
just wondering how these compare? (oh its a good price on play.com at the moment too!)
oh and Happy new year

These are excellent, and at a good price right now.

I have used them for long periods and never got too hot.

Re: Sennheiser 595 - anygood?

sorry to spoil the party, but i didn't think much of them. Get a pair of Equation Audio RP21's instead. Cheaper, and better than the Sony's. if you can get your hands on a pair of Sennheiser HD25-1's you'll be better off.

as for the 595's, they'll be a touch better on the detail, and tighter on the bass, but there might not be as heavy on the bass. but that's a good price for the HD595's. if you're looking for a bit more detail, then get a pair of Alessandro MS-1's.

personally the price of the Equation audios have dropped rapidly in the last few months. Mine cost £75 plus p&p from the states, so they ended up being very expensive, but they are great, far better than the (now) £45 or so price tag suggests. try everyones friendly bidding site for the RP21's.

but for comfort, the only headphones i found to beat the HD595's are the Denon AH-D1000's. but keep your eyes peeled because the new Denon AH-D301 and D501's are coming out soon. 301, should retail at around £39 and the 501's £59.

Re: Sennheiser 595 - anygood?

I use my 595's for my Xbox 360 for COD4 so I can ehar people who are around me very well like 50ft away from me, so I can hunt them down, the sound quality is amazing through an Ipod too I recommend them fully and the price from play.com and amazon is £69.99 Bargain in my eyes!

Re: Sennheiser 595 - anygood?

I own a pair, mainly for use with the PC and think they are great. A very detailed soundstage and comfortable to wear over long periods. If I was nit-picking then there could be a bit more bass, but still these are great anyway, especially if using with an headphone amp.

Re: Sennheiser 595 - anygood?

Cracking set of headphones IMHO.Have owned the HD650 too amped with a Corda Aria and i still prefer the HD595 unamped even though it sounds muddier. The best thing about it is it's an all rounder,it doesn't excel at anything in particular but does a good job of everything, all kinds of music are catered for and also great with movies and games. It never fatigues either both with sound and comfort.Another poster mentioned the Hd25-1 being better, thats not my experience, its very bass biased and its not tunefull, sibilant and clamps like no other, even with the velour pads, alright i guess if thats "your thing".I just use IEM's now on the go anymore as i happily use speakers at home.If i were to go back to using headphones again HD595 would be my choice no matter what my budget was.

They are both the same headphones. Amazon is selling them directly at a cheaper price than the marketplace seller advanced mp3 players

Well that's amazing, they are even selling them both together as a bundle, thanks for clearing that up for me.
