Headphones - PC

Hi, can someone tell me if it's possible to listen to music on your pc using a pair of headphones? i wanna listen to internet radio without the mrs hassling me.

I know theres a place to plug in headphones on the disk drives but is'nt that just for listening to CD's?

Thanks if anyone can help with this.

Re: Headphones - PC

Yes you can by plugging the headphones into the 'line out' socket round the back of your pc.

It should tell you about this in the motherboard manual or whatever pc manual you have, but if you don't have a manual just plug some headphones in and see if they work.

The line out socket or port is often 1 of 3 in a row. The other 2 being 'line in' and 'mic', but the line out has an arrow pointing outwards from a sort of bulls eye looking thing and on my pc its green. The line in has the arrow going in, and the mic kind of looks like a microphone.

If you haven't tried doing it yet, the headphone socket by your disc drive should work fine for your stored / streaming music.
