Px 100 Repair or replacement

My PX100 has just gone faulty, the left channel is not working but when I fiddle with the connecting wire, the sound comes back so I think it's just the wiring in the actual plug which is wrong. Is it/can it be repaired? have
emailed senneheiser but no reply as of yet, so if I had to get a replacement
I'm looking at the CX 300 (not from ebay obviously!), does anybody no how the sound compares to the PX100 or any other suggestions for headphones.

Re: Px 100 Repair or replacement

I recommend buying a new pair of headphones.
Sennheiser don't repair those model of headphones as the labour cost is more than the headphones are worth.
If you have a receipt and they are less than two years old you can get them replaced F.O.C.

You could try repair them yourself by putting on a new jack plug.

Get new headphones, you'll save a lot of hassle.

Thanks for your reply eirejam, so has anybody heard both the px100 and cx300? and if so which is the best? are there any other contenders? looking for £20-£40 range used mainly for minidisc, cd and DAB, any further advice greatly appeciated.

Re: Px 100 Repair or replacement

To be honest my two choices would be either the Grado iGrado, or a pair of JBL 410.

The iGrado's are far, far better than anything the PX100 can muster, and although the JBL 410's aren't as open, they're far more powerful and even more full than the PX100's or iGrado's.

jbl 410

iGrado

Personally, because there are so many fakes, sophisticated fake versions of the CX300, I simply wouldn't bother going there.

The CX300's sound awful, they are just glorified bass cannons.

The PX100 is the better of the two.

I concur wholeheartedly. CX300 is like a fart in a box.

Re: Px 100 Repair or replacement

Right still looking, as the JBL 410 mention seem to be US only and the i-grado have the neckband style which I'm not sure I like. How about the Shure E2C, are they better than the CX300 and PX100?
