This is driving me crazy....DT990 or PROline 2500?

I've spent a good 10-12 hours over the past few days researching.

I bought a Rockhopper Mini^3 so my amp is decided.

I listen mostly to metal(Lamb of God, MachineHead, In Flames, Dark Tranquility) and I am a basshead. However tight bass is very very important to me

From what I've gathered:

DT990s:
Comfy as hell
Slightly Recessed Mids
More Bass

2500s:
Awesome Soundstage
Deeper Bass
More balanced

I've read a countless number of posts and I haven't found a general consensus...some love the DT990s, others love the 2500s. Some thing the DT990s sound muddy...others think the 2500s are muddy...some find the DT990s bright, others think it's just right. I know audio is purely subjective...but so many are at opposite sides of the spectrum it's making me want to bang my head against a wall

So here are my deciding questions:
Which has tighter bass? I use the song One Gun by Lamb of God to test bass...it's made $5000 B&W speakers sound muddy. I need very tight bass
Which will complement the Mini^3 better?

Also, My source is my laptop with an Audigy 2 ZS Notebook PCMCIA sound card. The majority of my music is ripped in FLAC.
I love my SR-80s if that tells you anything about what type of sound I like. I just wish it had more bass
