Headphones for movies

I just moved to an apartment and have to buy some headphones to plug to my Receiver. Now,these will be mostly for movies, they have to deal with high volumes (I like it loud-but without strain)and good Bass levels(actually,Bass is the most important factor here),they must measure about 5/6 meters.
Now as to price, can I find all these requirements in a 100£ budget. If has to be a store that ships for most of Europe.
I would be very thankful for any ideas.

Re: Headphones for movies

i'm swayed by headphones i prefer for £100, not necessarily which headphones would do well for movies.

My money would be on the Sennheiser HD25-1's, but i'm struggling to get a good price for you. keep an eye on www.rebelio.co.uk for the HD25-1's

maybe try a pair of Equation Audio RP21's, they're pretty good.

Re: Headphones for movies

If it's for movies then you should really look at getting Dolby Headphone which uses a processor to create a fairly good pseudo 5.1 field for movies and music, that can be used with any headphones.
The Philips HD1500U comes with the processor and wireless headphones and gets rave reviews. It also has outputs for one or two wired headphones. (I have the old wired model and I love it)
It's a little over your budget but absoluetly worth it for movies.

Re: Headphones for movies

senny 595's get a movie vote from me....or the sp 25's that are better for bass and a closed back set so would not leak as much sound.....if you want volume and clarity then its a headphone amp for you as well i reckon.

Re: Headphones for movies

Is it possible to purchase just the decoding section as I already have an excellent set of phones?

Not for the Philips unit, but the phones are wireless so it's a nice option to have. The price is also about half of what it was 18 months ago, for movies it's a great deal.
