Ipod Headphones Upgrade - AKG's

I want to upgrade my Ipod headphones and have been browsing the forum for a couple of days now, but am still unsure. It seems that some of the AKG's are well regarded.

I was thinking of buying the AKG K26P. Is there much difference between those and the 27's. Or anything else under £50 worth looking at.

Thanks

I have just bought Shure E2C In-Ear Headphones from Amazon reduced from £49.99 to £29.99 for my new 80GB Classic. They seem to get very good reviews. Not arrived yet so can't say anymore at the present time. Cheers

I've got the K24P, the open version and they're ok, nothing special though. I would probably prefer the Koss Porta Pros. Might want to have a look at the iGrados too, or used SR60s. Sennheiser PX100 are well regarded but I've never heard them myself.

I'd have to second the Shure E2c's for your iPod experience. (Starting to sound like a Shure rep!)

They've really come down in price since they've brought out the SE series. I bought it for a "bargain" at £80 a couple of years ago. Even at £80 they were well worth the price - a whole different league from your standard iPod earphones (or even the iPod IEMs).

Get them while you still can. I believe they're discontinued in the US already.

There is always the allesandro ms 1's, which are moddified grado SR 80's. Cost is a shockingly good £50 and that includes international shipping (my sr 80s cost £110). I emailed allesandro and apparently the ms -1's are reckoned to sound like the grado sr 125's.

I currently use goldring DR 150's. These are good and my grado sr 80's have'nt been used since i bought them. Slightly over budget at £62 though.

Some user impressions of the dr 150's

I would NOT want to walk down the street wearing either of these though!

Edit: I forgot to mention the chance of import tax for the MS-1's.
