SBCHP1500 Headphone Replacement

Afternoon all.

Ive had the above Amp/Headphone kit for well over a year now, and unfortuneately the extensive use the headphones get has seen the cheap/weak plastic housings on the sides of the cans snap/break/fall apart and generally left me with a taped/self-repaired set of cans which is, less than ideal.

Its almost impossible to source a replacement for the headphoens alone so my question is, do I have to use the Philips ones or can I get any other pair and use them with the amp?

If I can use alternatives can anybody reocmmened a good set to use in conjuction with such an amp.

Cheers.

i have order items from this shop in the past and its very good. Prices are not the best but it has a **** load of products and they are very professional. Nice site with many payment and shipping options packaging is also very good and shipping.

I just order mine from there hopefully they still have them in stock so they can send them to me.

Re: SBCHP1500 Headphone Replacement

The amp will work with any 'phone but it is designed for low impedance 'phones like the 30 Ohm Phillips HP1000 it come with, so you'll need a low impedance set of 'phones.
These 'phones are meant to be similar to the Sennheiser HD595 but are far better 'bang for buck' as the Sens cost £100 or so which is a shame as the Philips are discontinued.

Apparantly the amp is ok but not great and matches in quality a portable £70 amp.

well those philips ones are 117GBP from that site. and for 17 more you get the wireless feature and the DD and DTS souround with volume control bass and trebel on the phone.

So unless those HD595 are much much better in sound quality then i would consider them.

Can you give me a few links of some amps please that are better in quality?
I really want to see what other options i will have in the future.
