Durable in-ear headphones (braided cord?)

I am fed up to the back teeth of in-ear headphones. I spend varying amounts of money on them, but no matter what, within 2-4 months, the plastic has started to strip from the leads, or the cable has got a break causing intermittent sound, and all sorts of other things. I would like some headphones that actually stayed in one piece.

I really like the way the lead is constructed on the cans I have for my PC (http://www.steelseries.com/int/products/audio/5hv2) which is basically a braided cord with the cable inside. Can I get this kind of setup for in-ear headphones for my mp3 player?
