Hifi Headphones at ~£80

I listen to a bit of everything but the majority is dance/trance with a bit of pop/old rock etc

I love the trebles my B&W 601 S3 give me but want something capable of giving tight, low bass.

I'll look into amping them at a later date when funds allow

From what i see this is my choice:

1) Sennheiser HD595
2) Grado SR80
3) Alessandro MS1

My only reference point with regard to headphones is a pair of shure e2c which i enjoy with some EQ to raise the bass volume.

Which should i go for?

If the the majority if your listening is Dance/Trance then you might want to consider the Beyerdynamic;

DT770, DT880 or DT990.

Re: Hifi Headphones at ~£80

the grado's never floated my boat when it came to bass, although for UK buyers, at $99 shipped the MS-1's are a great offer. i'd give the Grado's a miss and try the Denon AH-D1000's which i think are better than the lower end Grado's. they offer better bass weight, and they sound just as, if not more sweeter.

i got mine from hifibitz

Out of your three, i'd go for the HD595's, if i HAD to choose out of the three, but i think you'd be missing out by not giving the Denon's a go.

personally for dance might stay away from all three, and go for a pair of Senn HD25-1's.

and treat yourself to a nice pair of velour earpads for them.

or alternatively go with DorKnight's suggestion.

The hd-25-1 or as they are now know the hd-25-1 II have free velour earpads included in the packaging.
The packaging is new also.

They would be my choice for listening to dance music.
However they do not come with a very long cable. 1.5 meters
Can be a pain when using with an amp.

Ideal for dj's though as they have the detachable cups.
