Sennheiser PX200 thoughts
Over the last couple of years, I've struggled to find some phones for commuting I'm really happy with. I have tried: Sony in-ear 71's - rubbish
Senny in-ear CX300 - great sound, but uncomfortable and then broke
Etymotics in ears, great, but again, didn't really enjoy wearing them
Shure E2Cs - good sound, but not that comfortable long term.
Soooo, this week, I took delivery of some Sennheiser PX200s and I love them. Really good sound, acceptabel isolation from ambient noise, yet convenient enough to remove and replace for train driver announcements etc (which was a problem with the etys) and they fold up small for travel. After all the money, I've spent I think I've found the ones I'm most happy with...just thought I'd share, and they are only 17.99 from mymemory.com.
ALSO, my CX300s have broken and I called Sennheiser to see about getting fixed replaced, and they told me to go back to my retailers, but I bought them over the web and can't recall from whom. Am I basically knackered? or is there a way to get Sennheiser to help me.

You have to go back to the shop/E retailer from whom you bought them. Company policy. Without a receipt you would have no chance of getting them replaced for you by anybody.

weird ones, I think...
on most in ear monitors the small is too small and the medium and large are too large...so the PX200 just sit nicely on my ears and work well - I've been using them on the way home and enjoying them even more...

Totally agree. I bought a pair a couple of years ago when I was commuting into London. The great thing about the sound insuation is that it works both ways. Personally I hate listening to other's "tish-tish-tish", so it's great to know I'm not annoying the people around me when listening at normal volumes.
I now use them at work occasionally, for much the same reasons.
Only one negative is their lack of bass, but I'd rather that than bloated bass which is typically the only other option in commuter 'phones.

Re: Sennheiser PX200 thoughts
I have a pair of PMX200s, that sound fantastic... I wish I'd gone for the PX200s though, as the earclips interfere with my glasses, and I can't rest the back of my head anywhere because of the backband..
Oh well...

I am a fan of PX200 too, but when you have the urge to upgrade further, try the magnificent AKG K180 DJ, they have the bass that sometimes the Senns. don't.
