Senn 595 - 50 Ohm vs 150 Ohm

Whats the difference between these two versions?

As you've pointed out in the title one is 50 Ohm and the other is 150 Ohm, the 50 Ohm version of the HD595 will be easier to drive from a device like an iPod rather than the 150 Ohm version which would ideally require a decent amp rather than an inbuilt one in a DAP or whatnot..

Just to point out that you can also have low impedance cans which would also require a dedicated amp as they may not be very efficient, the HD595 50 Ohm would also benefit from being used with a decent amp if at all possible.

there is no 150 Ohm version.
they were originaly made with a 120 ohm capsule.
Due to market place reqiurement the 120 ohm capsule have to be faded out.
The 50 ohm is now hd-595 standard and 120 Ohm capsules are no longer produced.

As already mentioned, the 50 Ohm capsules are easier to drive. Weather they sound any better is unproven.
