Noise killing headphones for movies

hey guys

i've moved to my new house and it turns out i'm out of luck with my neighbours meaning there is always noise coming from them (barking dogs, screaming children, children running up and down the stairs).

it's actually quite amazing how much noise they produce. now i've already decided i'm moving again in 10 months when my rental contract expires but untill then i want to be able to watch movies without (too much) distraction.

i don't feel like investing in a soundproof room for only 10 months of use so i thought i would look into noise blocking headphones.

are there headphones on the market that really block out almost every noise?

maybe those shure earplugs?

any advice is greatly appreciated.

The shures aree very good but quite uncomfortable for long periods. I would go for some Bose Quiet Comfort 2s. Would recommend you get them from a place with a good returns policy though just to be on the safe side.

Agreed ... after my initial experience with my first pair of faulty PXC 450's the replacements have been fantastic ... great noise reduction and great sound.

I still have an issue with the lack of bass in noise reduction "normal" mode, not that its bad, just that its waaaaay lower then in non-noise reduction "bypass" mode.

Very comfortable phones though with the benfit of the talkthrough feature.
