Headphones from Richer Sounds

Hi chaps,

Fed up with cheap headphones and a £120 credit at Richer Sounds sees me looking to blow the lot on some decent ones. Will be used at work through a PC soundcard and at home through a Yamaha AV Amp. The Amp has some fancy surround headphone mdoe on it too which could be handy for late night movie viewing. So, which phones, from Richer Sounds, should I buy? I listen to absolutely all kinds of music.

Cheers.

Re: Headphones from Richer Sounds

I'd go for the Grado SR80 at £109.95.

Re: Headphones from Richer Sounds

Given the range you have to choose from,I'd give those the highest vote, and also for ease of use and amp matching, but you should also try the Sennheiser 595 if you are in the store.

He can only get them from Richer sounds, unless I missed them being listed on there.

Re: Headphones from Richer Sounds

Thanks chaps.
In then end I went for the HD 595s and am delighted with them.

Is it normal to immediately begin critisising the production on various albums that you'd previously been happy with when getting some nice cans!?

Re: Headphones from Richer Sounds

for sound i'd pick the Grado's for comfort i'd go with the HD595's. the 595's don't sound that bad, but i'd rather pay the price that amazon has them for.

good choice.

I use these headphones with my amp also.
I prefer them to the 600's and 650's which may sound strange.

Re: Headphones from Richer Sounds

Personally I would have gone with the Grado headphones if you were planning on running them without an amp as they are a lot easier to drive. However if you're happy with the Senns then enjoy
