Portable quality headphones.

The headphone choice is so vast that I'm totally fuddled! I need to walk more - so my doctor says. To make it less tedious I've invested in a Roberts portable radio. The traffic , locally, makes it almost impossible to hear properly. So - I'm in the market for headphones. I don't fancy the in-ear type - I feel uncomforable with a test run I've done. If I had an over -the -head or clip -to- ear (behind the ear) type - noise/traffic reduction as well? - light - sturdy - mainly speach (Radio 4 LW) - must be quality make - maybe Bose?
Been looking at the Bose QC2 - don't like the price!! But if they are what I need then I would consider them. Perhaps they are too big - I'd like a small compact pair. Maybe their equivelent is out there? Any suggestions? Regards Michael r. ps Must be small -- don't want to go around looking like a lost DJ! I also don't want other people to hear my radio - the world is sound polluted enough!

Etymotic Research ER4S in ear canal headphones are the best bet
If you can learn to tolerate the in canal experience these may be the way to go, they have different size tips for different size ear canals

I too have to walk and exercise for my health
And my beloved Ultrasone 2200’s are just too big to use while walking
The Etymotic Research ER4S in ear canal headphones are the way to go for quality sound and convenience

Re: Portable quality headphones.

I have a set of Sennheiser PX200's and for around £30 couldn't be happier for portable listening. These are the closed design so should you decide to use them on a bus etc. the wont annoy the person sitting next to you/
