Re: going spare trying to choose

Hi...I think your problem is going to be trying a set of each!

Also, its worth considering that the Etymotics, whilst very good, can be a bit difficult to get used to if you havent used in-ear phones before(I know the Shures are also of that ilk)as the seal can be a bit tight at first.

Well the E2C are £35 and very good for it. The E3C are obviously an upgrade however they're more of a gamble incase you don't like the sound of Shure earphones.

Alot of people really don't like the Etymotics E6, so I would avoid on the basis that the Shures are a safer bet.

thats interesting as a lot of reviews I read gave the etymotics the edge - price wise can pick them up for £45 in the US

Mate your going to have to jump in with two feet. They are not that far apart that you would have wasted your money but e3c or ety 6. Just do it

Re: going spare trying to choose

does anyone know if the etymotics fit most ears - being female I would presume we have smaller ear canals?

They will fit but I find that my other half is more sensitive to the in ear buds (but you can get foamies which are really soft).

Nope you cut the stem and then put them on the headphones and insert until there is a good seal (you'll know) and thats all you need. The three flanges sort of cover all ear sizes but there are other types of buds you can use as well if you don't like the tri-flange.
