Haven't got a 360 or Sky. I have connected it up via Tos Optical to my DVD player.
The digital coaxial socket also takes a optical cable. The other input socket takes an analog input. All these are 3.5mm sockets.
Basically for an optical connection you need a Toslink optical 3.5mm converter/adapter- will cost you around £2. This plugs onto a Toslink optical cable (have to purchase optical cable as an extra) and changes the plug to 3.5mm (which the HQ2300D accepts as input)
For a single phono cable to get a 3.5mm jack you need a phono to 3.5mm adapter from Cut Price Cables for £2 delivered. I think it is on the digital coaxial web page.
I advise upgrading the cables. The ones that come with it are cheap.
Go for HQ OFC cables for:
3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack
digital coaxial
and get HQ TOS Optical cable.
Look on Ebay or use a search engine and you will find the above cables and adapters.
The Creative HQ2300D adapter is excellent. Let me know if you need any other help with it.
