Durable Cord & Excellent Sound

Im looking for a new set of head phones as my pair of E2C's have just become unlistenable.

I used to have Sony EX71's which were good but had the worst cables ever, the cable would go soggy and fray and had that awful connector in the middle. I must have gone through a pair every 2 months costing a fortune

So then after some reasearch i settled on the E2C's which has an awsome cable and the sound blows the Sonys away ive been very happy with them and they have lasted around 8 months so have been much better value.

But the same fate has now befallen this set too the wire has cracked and become frayed so im looking for a new pair, been looking at the CX300s but when your in a shop you cant tell what the cable is like and whether its durable or not.

Ill be honest i use them alot (12 hours+) a day so they have to be very durable and strong.

So does anyone know of any 'phones with comparable sound to the E2C's but with a super durable cable?

Cheers

Re: Durable Cord & Excellent Sound

Your E2Cs have a 2 year warranty, so if you still have some form of proof of purchase, send them back to Shure, who have an excellent customer support policy.

Of the extremely numerous earphones/headphones I've tried, the E2C are about the most durable I've used, so unfortunately I can't recommend anything else for you.
I can, however, tell you that the cable on the CX300 is less durable than that of the E2C, although it's not too bad and definitely better than the EX71 cable. It's thin and rubbery, so it can take a lot of twisting and bending, but isn't the sturdiest.
