Smile Headphone Suggestions :)

So I have a budget of £40ish pounds and am looking for a decent set of headphones

Not too sure on this, but I have an amp for the headphones. I have an old Hi-Fi system that powers my 100W floorstanders easily (200W cause theres two ). When plugging my PMX100's into the headphone jack (its larger, so I had to use an adapter), the hifi drove it considerably louder then that of the PC jack (More then twice as loud IMO).

I listen to ALOT of music, play ALOT of movies, and ALOT of games, so all round ALOT of general use, this is all at home, I use my PMX100's whilst I'm out and about. So these headphones will purely be for home use.

Thanks alot to all who reply!

Re: Headphone Suggestions :)

to be honest for the price or much less if you do a bit of hunting, there are plenty of full size headphones bargins. i've got the sennheiser hd 212's which can be a bit heavy on the bass.

the Goldrings seem to be the flavour of the moment. i've yet to read a negative comment about them. people are putting the 150's up against the liek of grado SR60's and senn' hd 595's and the goldrings hold their own.

the goldring dr100 has a 'best' award form what hi-fi.

other than that, what are your thoughts about the type of headphone you want?
