Portable buds/phones with in-line Balance Control

I was just wondering if it's possible to get decent quality headphones/buds with an in-line balance control. I'm slightly deaf in one ear (just enough to skew centre imaging of vocals - quite annoying once you notice it) and would like to compensate a little. I'd be using these with an iPod which as you know doesn't have a balance control in any of the menus.

Any thoughts/recommendations

If you don't mind the big change of software, Rockbox for the ipod has a balance control.

Re: Portable buds/phones with in-line Balance Control

Cheers for idea, I sort of looked at that, but don't fancy it. I'm on a Mac and the installation doesn't appear as straightforward as I'd like. Plus I'm happy with the default iPod software (with the exception of the lack of balance control).

I agree that firmware is the most simple solution, and I've e-mailed Apple about this feature request via their iPod feedback URL. I won't hold my breath though.

I want to upgrade my 'phones anyway, so I just wondered if there were any out there with a balance control of some sort.
