Grado cable length

Hello,

I will be buying either the Grado 225's or the 325i headphones in a couple of weeks. How long is the standard cable that comes with the headphones?

I know grado sell extension cables, but i will be sitting only 1.5metres from my amp and would like it if the std lead is long enough.

(PS any views on the 325i headphones?.... I have read they are bright/detailed..... which i think i will like)

Cheers

Re: Grado cable length

Cable length is 6ft. So I am gathering they will be long enough, just.

And yes, the 325i is quite bright. As are all Grados TBH, but the 325 is among he brighter of the range, due to the metal driver housing.

Re: Grado cable length

Thanks for that..... I tried my friends SR60 phones the other day, they sounded as good as my B&W 601 speakers (for rock anyway). Cant wait to try the 325i phones.

I am a bit concerend that my cyrus C7 amp may be too 'forward' with these phones. anyone used Cyrus amps with Grados?

(PS my source is the Cyrus CD7Q which is less 'lean' than more modern cyrus cd players)

Re: Grado cable length

Regarding the lead length, if you are only sitting 1.5 metres away from the amp then a 6ft is fine...if you want the cable 'hanging' between your ears and the amp!

I have the SR125s - the lead is quite substantial, and with it hanging between me and the amp it restricted my head movement. I found it quite distracting.

I would recommend you invest in the Grado cable extention and trail it across the floor as I have - Especially if you are prone to the odd bout of air 'instrumentation'
