Over The Head Phones For Ipod

Hi all

Looking for some recommendations for some over the head headphones to use with an ipod budget wise upto 70.00.

Would be useful to have some folding but need as high quality as possible.

Just for reference im using the CX300 in ear phones at the mo, but like to use these over the heads at home.

Thanks in advance.

i bought the sennheiser pxc300's for £50 pn ebay and it worked out quite nicely. im not sure about the extra "tube" which is battery powered and holds the noise cancelling technology - its a tad faffy but the sound is good

Senheiser PX100s are fantastic. I don't think you can go wrong with them.

Sennheiser HD212 Pro are great for £30 - £40. Sound much better than the PX200, which I've also owned (very disappointing). They're a bit bassy but still terrific for the money. Closed back too, which means that outside sounds aren't so intrusive and hardly any music will leak out to annoy people around you.

For the ultimate closed-back 'phones, check out the Bose TriPort. They sound like a more refined version of the 212 Pro. One listen at the Apple Store and I was hooked - I bought a pair and gave away the 212 Pro to a mate.

I have to agree with russelkhan here, I have the PX 200's and good though they are I’d choose the 212's (which I also have a pair of and I’m listening to them right now)

Once again I agree with my esteemed colleague, but please be aware that the headband has a bad habit for breaking very easily.

I’m currently on my forth pair of Bose Triports (I do love 'em) but whoever you purchase your Triports from should exchange them, no quibble!

I have the Pioneer SE-IR460C and they are as good as the PX100. I got them from igearbox.com for UK £52.30. These headphones are light, compact, and sound great for portables. Some people might find these a little pricy, but if they last twice as long and sound better than the cheaper headphones, then they become a good value.

Do i forget to mention that it's a wireless headphones?

Goldring DR150 looks to be a good buy, getting excellent reviews on headfi and is quite easy to drive.

Otherwise the Koss Porta Pro or Sennheiser PX100 might be worth a go.

Must be the PX100's (forget the 200's).
Or, the Grado 60's if style isn't an issue! Buy the latter from the US though.
