Which are the best closed back headphones!

Sennheiser HD-250 II or Beyerdynamic DT-770.

Ive been doing plenty checking past year on closed cans... its a hard area nail down.

But the Audio Technics A900s are a very popular set of closed headphones...theres also the beyers DT-770s are popular also.

Theres plenty mixed thoughts, the general idea is they still dont quite compare to say a Open Design headphones like the Senns HD-600/650s but guess the noise isolation is a major +, open cans leak all the noise u listen too.

I still cant decide tbh what pair to get lol but atm the A900s get my vote.

the 250 II's are nice but the 770's are alittle bit more comfortable and they have heavier bass.

go for the 770's

Hi Ewoody,
I have both of these headphones. In terms of absolute sound quality, I think the 250 II are the best. The frequency response is flatter across the entire spectrum and the bass is more convincing at really low frequencies. The only down side is the "ear sweating" vinyl covered ear pads - I think the better seal that these provide produces the more accurate sound. They can be uncomfortable in hot weather. You should also be aware that Senny spares are extortionate (lead and ear pads around £50 ). Cords on Sennys always break near the plugs (don't forget the 2 year warranty). I cut the brocken cable and glue a little socket to the plug, so that I can make my own much more durable cable.
The DT-770s are comfortable all year round. They do not have a replacable cord. If you don't hear the Sennys you will be vey happy with the Beyers.

Is there a major difference between the DT-770 models? I have seen one being sold for around £80 while another is almost double the price (£130ish).

As far as I'm aware you are looking at two monsterously different prices for the same thing. I paid £65 for mine - absolute bargain.
Not as good as the Sennheiser HD 250 linear II's though. The best price I could get for those was £110.
