Anyone tried the Sennheiser 415 or 435's?

I read that Sennheiser have two new models out - HD415 and HD435 - has anyone any early experience of these and are they any good?

I want a new pair of headphones for my ipod and listening to the computer at the office. The Sennheiser px100's seem to be the headphone of choice on this forum in the £30-40 region, I was interested in the Koss porta-pro but read that they were uncomfortable, any opinions?

Cheers!

The HD 415's and 435's are full size headphones. The PX 100'S are much smaller and more suitable for portable devices if you want to be discrete. I have the HD 485's and love them. The sound quality is excellent imo and you can pick them up for around £40 if you search. Looking at the pictures of the 415 and 435, I would imagine that they'll be as comfortable to wear as my 485's. If you're after a set of headphones to go with your i-pod then I'd say go for the PX 100'S as you'd look a bit silly sitting on a bus or a train with a pair of full sized 'phones

Well, neways i can tell ya about my experience. I got to try to 2 different sennheiser models on my IPOD.

1. HD-202
2. HD-477.

HD-202s were kinda little heavy, and the ear cushion wasnt that comfortable. But, the bass on it was BOOOOMY on my ipod. It was superb! Even the sound comparing to the bass was pretty decent.. Hd-202s were loud on my ipod. I would guess, that the ipod was able to supply enough power to these ones..

now the HD-477ss.

Man, the HD-477s focus on the detail of the music. The sound is clear, crisp and bass not so boomy like the 202s. The bass is decent enough. The headphones are very comfortable, very light and the ear cushion is made of a comfortable material. Overall, the sound of the 477s rocks! But, unfortunately, the 477s are not as loud on my ipod, as the 202s were. I dont know why?

Thanks for your opinions. It sounds like the ideal solution is to buy a pair of the PX100's plus a pair of either the 485 or 477's

I'm not sure how well suited to the ipod the 485's will be. I've used them with my cd walkman and although the sound quality is pretty good, I had to turn the volume up to max as these headphones need to be driven by something better than my walkman. You could always get a cheap headphone amp as well though.
But, if your planning to get the px100's and the 485's you should seriously consider pooling your funds and get a more expensive set as, where headphones are concerned, the more you spend the better the quality.

Each to their own I say.
