Senn CX-300 In ear monitors.

I brought a set of CX-300's Black online from Dolphin Music for my g/f as a replacement for her dead Sony EX-71's. She uses an Ipod Nano as her source and Mp3's @ 320kbps.

I thought I would give them a quick go and post my thoughts:

When compared to the EX-71's the CX-300s bass is more pronounced (boomy), like the 71's they have sibiliance too.

Overall they are louder than the Ex-71's with the same vol. setting on the nano.

I have the Shure E2'c (which the CX-300's dont come close too.) and the E4c's. also, Koss Plugs, Senn PX200's. In order of sound quality I'd list them as follows:

1) Shure E4c (beautiful midrange, lacking in bass.)
2) Senn PX200 (great all-rounder)
3) Shure E2c (midrange not as clear as the above, treble is weak too)
4) Senn CX-300 (boomy bass, poor treble) average external noise isolation (ex-71 silicones fit on the CX-300's).
5) Sony Ex-71 (bass is ok still boomy, again treble isn't clear.
6) Koss Plugs - awful fit sounds extremely boomy.

Anyone who like metal, Rnb etc (korn for example, will prefer the heavier sound the CX offers.

Overall the CX's are a good replacement for the Ex-71's.

i got a pair of cx300's delivered today, for the price i paid £32 delivered (www.discountdiscs.co.uk) you can't go wrong in my opinion. they are a replacement for the standard ipod headphones and i must say i've been impressed by my first listen.

i'm a firm believer in senny products, i have some hd580's as my main listening headphones and these new in ears for the train journey to work should do the job perfectly.

thumbs up from me.
