That's a shame for you. Still, you can always get your cash back, I guess.

Now that's interesting. I downgraded the rating for comfort in my review after a few months' use, but not for either of the reasons you cite. I found that for us jug-earred folk, the tiny pleather 'doughnut' couplings could become quite ... well, bruising, I suppose, particularly on the less fleshy part of the outer ear. The clamping pressure was easily enough adjusted with a few outward/upward flexes of the headband - which, incidently, probably fits your head more comfortably if you have clippered-short hair rather than a full barnet!

Another puzzler. I found the K26P coped just fine with rock/indie music. It was classical that suffered in my experience.

Good point, there. The claims made for the K26P's ambient noise attenuation are a little ambitious, I now appreciate. The K81 DJs with which I replaced the K26P isolate far more effectively (Headroom say the former don't do as good a job, but I strongly disagree with that assessment), and are, quite frankly, a better set of cans all round. But then, they're about twice the price - still cheap in headphone terms, of course.
I think it's as extremelydodgy says: user opinion is fairly divided on these phones. Also, StevieDvd posted in my review thread about later batches being not so up to the mark (see post below). One of the roots of your displeasure, perhaps? However, I'm far more inclined to agree with extremelydodgy once again, when he suggests that for those who, like me, are used to 'lesser' phones, the K26P will sound surprisingly good; while for folk with a broader (better?) experience of higher grade cans, these little phones are unlikely to impress.
