Question Headphone Amp for Beyerdynamic DT880's

Am thinking of purchasing some DT880's and from the looks of it these things need a fair amount of juice to get going so am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a good reasonably priced headphone amp to go with them(no more then £150 or so, but the less the better of corse) ?

Ok...take a look at the Creek, also used MF X-cans,and possibly some of the DIY amps if you feel ok with a soldering iron.

Of those, the MF will probably serve you best if you can find a decent used one,but do a search here, and you may turn up some more suggestions to fit the budget as well.

Being honest,I feel that most decent dynamic phones benefit form a good headphone amp,and if you are prepared to spend over £100,you should find something to suit your requirements.

Almost forgot...the Rega Ear.

The best option for a low budget will be the DIY's... try the PIMETA design for a typical ~$150 + postage. Mention the DT880 and ask for high gain. Pop along to Head-Fi.org and ask who builds them, the guys I rated highly have all stopped so I can't make any specific recommendations. Alternatively, cruise the For Sale forums and look out for them.
