In-ear / Over-the-head?
If you are looking for in-ear type, the Sony MDR-EX70LP (Around £40) are really good.
If you are into serious hi-fi listening music and require good dynamic range, opt for Sennheiser over-the-head type.
It really depends on what type of music you listen to, and where - You wouldn't want to be seen walking down the street with a pair of great big mufflers on now would you....Or maybe you would! Saying that, Sennheiser make some really good discrete over-the-head headphones.
