Beyerdynamic DT880 or DT990PRO

Daaamn. I have Destroyd my Beyerdynamic DT531 headphone and need a new pair of headphone. I want the same brand - Beyerdynamic! Love the comfy and size of them.

Im using my headphone mostly for PC anc Mac usage. Musik (mp3), movies and playing alot games, like Battlefield 2. I also have a headphone amp - A btech, unmodified

I have been looking at Beyerdynamic DT880 and DT990PRO. I cant test listen to anyone of them becous I live WAYYYY from a city that have them in Stock. So which one of then should I go with. The beyerdynamic DT531 I _HAD_ did not have the bass I wanted. Do the phones sqeeze alot agains the head?

The 880 looks alot better. BUT I dont care about the design. I just want good sound!

Can someone tell me about the sound in them!

Any other headphone tip in the same price range?

Edit:

Where in europe can I order DT990 and DT990PRO cheapest?

Hi jlw82,

Sorry to here of the demise of your DT531's !

Amongst numerous other headphones I own some 990 Pro's, I have not heard the 880's personally but I hear could things about them.

I find the 990 Pro's pretty good indeed and the most enjoyable for my hip hop / dance collection mainly due to their full, low end clout ! Much more bass power than my other cans, Grado and sennheiser models. The highs are nice too, a sparkling treble and not generally fatiguing at all once well run in. The mid range is their weakest point, but overall a great set of cans.

From what I hear of the 880's are well regarded, have seen them refered to as a bit leaner in the low end and quite bright sounding.

There is loads of info on both headphones on www.head-fi.org if you have not visited this before. Very useful resource.
