Dolby Headphone - 5.1 channel headphone surround...

Credit to dwsadler1 for this info, as seen in the posting 'Dolby Headphone track on Pearl Harbour' :

I just think this is something more people should know.

It seems Dolby has come up with a way to present 5.1 surround sound over 5 channels (bass goes through front two channels) through a normal set of headphones. Think of the possibilities and applications. Sounds dubious? If you don't believe us, check out: http://www.dolby.com/dolbyheadphone/

Question

Why have two threads saying the same thing?

...because repeated threads kind of clutter up the forums somewhat.
If I find repeated threads I tend to delete them from all but the most appropriate forum.

I missed the other thread but noticed this one!
The Denon AVC-A1SE upgrade includes Dolby Headphone technology.

Vindicated.

I just wanted people - those who may not have known about this beforehand, or those that might want to say something on the topic - to notice the subject. That is why I posted about it again.

Forums get cluttered. If no one wants to read or add to threads, they soon sink. It's the circle of life. Or whatever.

Some may not realise this but Dolby did not come up with headphone surround,Lake Technologies in Australia did.Dolby operate under licence from them.
Their surround amp,$2000 in australia is generally acknowledged to wipe the floor with everything else on the market. It's a full rack size amp but only about an inch high and works with ordinary headphones. The sound is as good as the headroom max but it just does not go very loud,it's only drawback.....apart from the price of course!!
