hd555 or hd590 sennies

thought i'd made my mind up on picking the sennheiser hd 555s for my first pair of decent cans.after a brief demo i found them comftable,well made and a great sound listening to paul wellers studio 54.however,after trawling the web today i found a pair of the hd590s going for the same price,around 80 quid.As i need them for both music and movies would i be better off with the 555,s [cant find any 590s to demo]?
Also, a slightly longer cable would be ideal,i'm currently using 5m which lays across the floor so the missus does'nt have to limbo to the kitchen.As i understand it the hd 590s cable is socketed to the side of the headset and therefor more easily changable?
anyone out there heard both cheers
