"Headsave Amplifiers" has closed.
According to the "Headsave Amplifiers" website they have closed.
http://www.headsave.com/index.html
It would appear that Norm was being overwhelmed with orders.
All outstanding orders will be completed and he will honour the 1-year warranty on his products.

Luckily I had placed an order before Norm decided to close and depending on his existing workload should receive my Headsave Classic before the end of this month.
It is a shame as he was a great guy to deal with selling an excellent product at a reasonable price.

That's shame. I was going to order one in the next couple of months. Though TBH I think he was selling the amps to cheaply as demonstrated by the overload in orders IMHO.

Although I've never heard one of these,it's a real shame when a product basically becomes a victim of it's own success, although with 60+ orders per month,it's easy to see why he had to close to preserve his other interests....good,cheap h/phone amps arent easy to come by.

Alex, not just that, Norm was a nice guy. He produced headphone amps that sounded better than they ought to for the price. I got the feeling that he did it for the love of it rather than profit and that makes it extra sad...

Thats a shame
I have pretty much settled on the Headsave Classic as my headphone amp after trying the likes of the X-Can v3, Perreaux SXH1, Corda HA-1 and being disappointed - I got this thing for £70 and its astonishing for the price. Definitely a sad day... I wont be getting rid of this amp though.

That's a real shame. I have a Headsave Classic, so I'm not affected by this right now, but I'd no doubt have bought any more expensive upgrade Norm may have offered, his amps are excellent, his service was top notch, in fact there's nothing about the guy that wasn't brilliant, he was as helpful as anyone could have been when I bought my amp off of him.
Mind you, even back then when I was one of the first on head-fi to buy one he was swamped with orders. I had to wait three weeks for mine.
All the best to him, I hope his other endeavours are successful, which they no doubt will be if he performs them anywhere near as well as he built amps.

Damn shame. Great service, great products, great prices (gotta love that GBP-USD FX rate!). All gone now! Pants!
I feel we (the UK) could really do with a quality home-headphone amp offering at the sub-£100 pricerange.
If only I knew DIY / electronics!

Not many companies close because they're doing well. Must be making stacks of cash doing other stuff. I think I'd hire some doers and up the price.

More of a scenario where he was making so many it was impacting his life. His prices were imo too low for the excellent product he was selling.
I suppose going from an enthusiast diy'er to a hard-code company means a lot of changes. I know of another amp designer who has invested a lot of his time and money and the rewards are not financial, yet!
