| Good replacement for Sony MDR-EX082 in-ear headphones
I recently caught the wire of my Sony WALKMAN's headphones on a door handle and snapped them. I've been using them for seven months and found them terrific with a cable that was just the right length to keep the unit in my trouser pocket.
I found out that the headphone model was MDR-EX082 but when I tried to find an exact replacement for them I discovered that that particular model is not on sale. However, I did find a very similar one, the MDR-EX85, on Amazon so I ordered that hoping they'd be exactly the same.
Well the actual ear pieces themselves are identical and the sound quality seems the same so I'm pleased about that. What I'm not so thrilled about is the cable itself; it's either too short without the extension piece or too long with it. Very annoying. Not only that but with the extension the end connector is L-shaped so sticks out at the bottom slightly.
Does anyone know if it's possible to buy a replacement MDR-EX082 from anywhere or if there's any Sony headphones which have identical ear pieces (which I really like as they're so comfortable) but a cable length that isn't too short or too long (i.e. approx. 1 m)?
Thanks.
