Skullcandy Headphones?

Hi, I'm going to be getting some headphones for xmas this year and I really don't know whats what. Just wondered if anyone could recomend me a half decent pair (not wanting anything expensive), it's only to listen to my ipod with and I was thinking skullcandy becuase I really like the way thay look, which is pretty important to me.
Thanks in advance Jack.

Re: Skullcandy Headphones?

SK are one of the worst value phones on the market. They market them to people who put looks ahead of sound and value for money.

You'll love them.

Yeah thanks for that one, clearly I'm not the most knowledgeable on this subject, so it's always nice to be insulted whilst seeking help and what can I say, when I'm going to be wearing something that's going to be on my head I am quite concerned with the way it looks the same way I am when I get dressed in the morning.

Sorry. I hardly see SKs as a cool fashion statement either. I wouldn't be worried about what clothes I was wearing if I had these on my head:

But if looks are more important, which they clearly are, then expect to pay over the odds for how they look, and get nothing resembling half decent sound.

Have a look at Shure SH240. If they're cool enough for you, they'll **** all over the SK for sound. If that's of any importance.

Re: Skullcandy Headphones?

The Creative Aurvana Live! headphones are a million times better than what you will get with a pair of SK's soundwise and aren't too bad looking. They are also on the lower end of the price scale.

Re: Skullcandy Headphones?

Skullcandy definately have a market, they do look good even if they sound bad (relatively) and break easy. I've bought a pair of SK Hesh for my nephew for his Xmas, he's 12 years old and that age he wouldn't appreciate the Sennheiser I was gonna buy for him.

Oh, so a GOOD headphone is one that looks 'great' and can take a beating?

Sorry, I thought it was about sound.

skull candy are purely about looks and not sound

any true dj like myself knows that

but as its only for ipod usage, then why not go for it

personally i'd stick to my sennheiser hd25-1 mk2, being a bassline addict, these babys go low down the frequency scale

I can vouch for SK's.
look good, bassy, but a little muffled, and the bass can sound a touch synthetic.

I have found them to be a little fragile, though they always honour their lifetime warranty

If you shop around, a pair of basic hesh's can be yours for £18
