In Ear - £150 - 200 budget

Hi All

Much to my disapiontment my Etymotic ER4s have decided to give up the ghost (about 3 years old).

I've been looking for a replacement set, done lots of searching and just can't decide on what and where to take the plunge.

I've got a budget of £150 - 200.

What thoughts are out there with regards to a purchase, and where would you recommend purchasing from?

Also what review sites do you guys and gals swear by for this area (Avforums obviously top of my list)

Thanks in advance

Steve

I would recommend Shure for in earphones. I got the Shure EC4 a few years back and they are absolutely superb. They came with various types/sizes of sleeves. Personally I like the foam pads/sleeves, basically you roll them between your fingers till they are compressed and then insert them in your ear. I find they are a superb and comfortable fit and are excellent noise cancelling too. I use my Shure EC4 in the gym and they stay put, they never fall out, even when I am running on the treadmill.

I suppose the EC4 will not be still produced now, but there will be some equivalent model on the Shure site.

Here's Shure's website:

Re: In Ear - £150 - 200 budget

I would recommend this site Head-Fi.org: Headphones, iPod earphones, portable audio, MP3 players, high-end audio the best I have come accross for all things headfones.

As far as in ears with your budget, I would start looking at what kind of music you listen to and what kind of sound your looking for.
