Any recommended alternative to my Shure E2c's?

Hi all.

Ive had my Shure E2c's for around 2 years although, i havent really used them to there full potential *everyday listening* as i use some cheaper sennheiser CX300's instead which when they are in my bag i dont mind if they get damaged etc. The noticable difference between these are that the CX300's have more bass but can be overpowering at times on some music then the E2c's. The Shures sound is just amazing and so natural sounding you really can tell the difference in price!

The reason im thinking of selling the E2c's is basically because of the Earwax guard system as apposed to the steel mesh of the Cx100's, Also the feel of the Shures are alittle bulkier then the CX300's which i guess are easier to fit then the Shure.

I was wondering if there was any newer alternative that did away with the earwax guards and arent as bulky as the Ec2's.

I also own some sennheiser PX100's which again for the money i cant fault and very pleased with them. So i would like another set of noise isolation shure type fitting.
Cost wise.. Probably around the same i paid for the E2c's at the time £60 ish? but willing to spend more if there alot better etc

Thanks for any recommendations you could give

Re: Any recommended alternative to my Shure E2c's?

I personally use Etymotic.... i have both ER6i and HF2's (the HF2's are basically the HF5's but with the addition of a microphone so i can use them as a hands free kit with my iPhone)

They cost very similar now, but the ER6i have a significant bass boost and were designed to work with portable devices. The HF5's sound stunning, they have a much better mid and top end which more than makes up for the slight lack in bass.... i guess it depends on what you listen to really, but even with heavy bass stuff, i still prefer the overall balance of the HF5's

Re: Any recommended alternative to my Shure E2c's?

thanks for the reply mate.

Its a make ive never heard much about altho have seen the name somewhere before im sure. Some of the reviews are a bit sketchy.. But i guess different peoples ears react differently and also some like alittle more bass then others some more clarity.

I guess i was sticking to what i know with the shure range.
Anyone else have any thoughts?

Many thanks
