Sennheiser HD25 Headphones £147.50 HD 25 Free P and P - eBay Corded, Headphones, Accessories, Consumer Electronics. (end time 16-Nov-09 02:37:09 AEDST)

I own a pair of these and they are brilliant.
Huge sound for such a small set of cans, and very robust, very well built, easy to run and block out unwanted sounds..
I can't comment on your ones, here is reviews on the 25's

enjoy...

Thanks for the reply.

Ive heard people say they were good headphones aswell so i might look into them aswell.

With regards to the earpiece on them, does it cover the whole ear? i.e does your ear rest inside the cup? if you know what i mean.

The HD 25 Mark 2 are not closed cans, they do not fully go around the out part of your ear..
The only cover the canal part, but still sound great..

Re: Monster Beats by Dr. Dre High Definition Studio Headphones

i have the studio beats and they are stunning, i am a real headphone freak and have had all sorts from £50 up to top range senns at £350 , these are the ones i have enjoyed the most and keep on enjoying, they look great fit great over the ear and surround the ear, sound wonderfull, and block out most of the outside noise, i would recomend then 100%, when i brought mine i took my ipod classic in with me and listened to them through it( any good shop should let you do this ) that way you can listen to music you know, i dont think you will be dissapointed...hope this helps...steve

Re: Monster Beats by Dr. Dre High Definition Studio Headphones

@ 24 P -

I think i will end up going for the HD25-1 to be honest as they do sound like they are very good. I just need a couple of last questions answered if possible,

1. How long roughly is the cable for the HD25's?
2. Is the sound quality superb for all types of music? as some headphones perform better with some music than others.
3. Am i right in saying that they work on all laptops/i-phone etc without any problems?

Thanks alot mate.

@ Steve -

Thanks for the reply. I really cant decide at the moment if i want to buy the Beats headphones or not as something is stopping me. One minute im close to buying them and then a minute later, i dont fancy buying them. They do look fantastic and from what ive read, they are meant to be really good. Ill have a think about which pair is best for me i think. Cheers.

Re: Monster Beats by Dr. Dre High Definition Studio Headphones

The cable is short about 2 metres max, probably less, it is strong, made of steel, yes steel..
I have listened to all sorts of music, from classical to techno and they are great..
They have very good bass response and a very comfortable..
Easy to drive so the laptop should have nps running them.
I would seriously go and listen to them before buying as they might not be suited for your tastes..
Cans are a very personal thing..

The only difference between the studio and solo is the battery or looks, played with my studio a week ago after arriving from US. This headphone is nice but to much of sound leakage, so far 30% onward people can hear what your listening

Think it depends on the quality of your music, i was listening some appleloss which 30% is unhearable from outside. 40-50% can be heard outside a little and finally 50-60% loud

Hi

I'm a total noob to headphones but really fancy a pair of these I realise there are better alternatives for real audiophiles but the Beats do get good user reviews everywhere I look, look great and I really like the Dr Dre sound so would imagine they are tailored for this.

One thing concerns me though - the cable length. It's listed on Amazon as 1.3m. This seems mega-short. Good enough for an Ipod I suppose but I've got a fair few uses in mind and would probably need about 3-5m.

Can someone in the know tell me if there is a simple cable extension available (probably just female jack to male jack) that could be used to extend headphone cable length without (much) loss of sound quality.

Thanks in advance for any replies

Hiya
I have a pair of these (Studios and Tours) both with "control talk" and I believe that IF you dont have control talk you get a standard stereo cable (you get two cables with the Studios - one for iphone use and one which is a sonically good monster cable) which I believe you can extend.
If you send Monster an email directly they may send you a longer one - their customer service is excellent!

Which beats are you after?

Cheers

Hi

Thanks for that. It would be the Studio set but I didn't realise they came with 2 separate cables. Lots of possibilities there

Now to muddy the water I see they're available in black and white. Not that it should really matter but it kind of does lol

Monster Beats by Dr. Dre v Shure SRH-840 v Beyerdynamic DT770

We've just taken on the Monster Beats Studio headphones and have been comparing them with some of the other bass heavy headphones we offer.

While the Monster Beats sound OK it's difficult to justify the price when you can buy a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770s for half the price, and Ultrasone HFI-780 and the Shure SRH-840s for a good deal less than the Monsters. The Shure's in particular have a really deep, powerful bass response that will keep the biggest bass monsters grinning from ear to ear. All have way more clarity (you can hear more detail in your music).

The sound is also a little muddled with the Monsters in comparison to the other models mentioned and actually feel a bit cheaply made (the design of the Monster beats actually looks suspiciously similar the the £50 Shure SRH-240 - hmmmm... I wonder if Shure OEM for Monster?).

Mind you if your main purchasing factor is fashion then I guess the Monster Beats are the ones to go for!

Hi good advice and thanks. I realise there will be better sounding alternatives at a lower price.

I'm not bothered about the fashion side of things as they would never leave the house but I worship at the altar of Dr Dre lol.

Hi Rock Da Bass. If it's good, deep bass you're after then try & check out Ultrasone Pro 900.

£260 from iheadphones.co.uk

Got a pair today, and they're impressive!

So how would you compare the Studios to the Tours?

To be honest I still struggle a little with in-ears, the sound quality is very similar but I don't like carrying the Studios around when I am travelling within the UK (trains etc) and purchased them mainly because I do a few long haul flights a year and really like using them (Noise cancelling feature) on planes, but sometimes use them at home if her indoors needs some peace!

So Whilst they both provide copious amounts of bass and good treble I do prefer the Studios because of that - but sound wise I think the studios sound a bit better but are a pain to carry daily!

I got my son a pair of Solos and they are really good - a good in between but I really wanted noise cancelling..

I was quite fortunate as I get them quite a bit cheaper then the high street owing to family who work in the industry and getting employee discounts which are very favourable!

Cheers

So Whilst they both provide copious amounts of bass and good treble I do prefer the Studios because of that - but sound wise I think the studios sound a bit better but are a pain to carry daily!

I got my son a pair of Solos and they are really good - a good in between but I really wanted noise cancelling..

I was quite fortunate as I get them quite a bit cheaper then the high street owing to family who work in the industry and getting employee discounts which are very favourable!

Cheers
Thanks!

How would you compare Solo to Studio? I don't need noise canceling (I think) but don't want to spend soo much. Do they both leak same amounts of sound?

Something to know about the Monster Studio,Solo and Tour before buying.

The Studio are the least bass heavy(of the three) and while the most natural sounding of the three(again) are...colored and far from transparent. Good as far as noise canceling headphones go. Just do not fold them too many times, the hinges are fragile IMO. Comfort is ...very very good.

The Solo are very bloated in the bass, so much the lower midrange is affected. Way too colored for my taste. Some may like the sonic signature these leave. Again fragile hinges and comfort is high, not like the Studio but very good none the less.

The Tour also have the bass heavy signature, this unlike the Solo does not smear the upper frequency range. And while obvious faults can be found these do not irritate(like the Solo).

Overall FUN headphones like the Sony "super duper" bass trio. Nice to have in the collection of odd headphones.

Is it possible to use the ControlTalk cable that is bundled with the Solo's with the Studio's?

If I'm right the Studio's come with "IsoniTalk/IsonoTalk" but that doesn't allow volume changing (according to reviews).
The Solo's come with "ControlTalk" which does enable volume control.

The reason for the query is I am about to purchase Studio's & Monster have stated they will be prepared to provide me with a ControlTalk cable.
I just thought I would check for compatibility before making the request (Believe it or not Monster do not know the answer!!!)

Thanks
