Goldring NS-1000 Cable Upgrade Help

Hi,

I know plenty of people on here must have the Goldring NS-1000 headphones as there is alot of talk on there about them. Right I personally have just purchased a set to use with my SU-DH1 Dolby Headphone Adapter now the dilemma is really I need a longer 3.5mm Cable for the headphones.

No I have been looking at the cables here 3.5mm Jack - Jack Cables - Audiovisual Online - High Quality Audio Video Cables and Accessories

They do a Van Damme or Fisual Havana custom cable in the length I would require but I am pretty sure the jacks would be to big to fit into the Goldring NS-1000 headphone socket.

My is has anyone else upgraded the cable on there NS-1000's if so what and where from or does anyone know if the custom cables I have looked at above will fit?

Cheers.

Nah I didn't want to buy one and it not fit, the trouble is that the end in the headphone is really thin so I am pretty sure aftermarket ones won't fit! I really wanted to replace it aswell with one of the custom van damme cables as I listed above.

Re: Goldring NS-1000 Cable Upgrade Help

Cable 'upgrades' have got to be the next worst thing in value for money than interconnects made of the latest unobtanium. They add next to nothing for added SQ or tonal difference, yet can cost 10x more than the headphnoes, so don't go getting one for that reason.

You really should be able to get a cable extension pretty cheap, there are ones available for both 3.5 and larger plugs at any electronics or hi fi stores.

im in the same boat, wanted a set of phones to use with the JVC but the NS1000's only had a short cable,

the solution i was going to use would be to have the JVC unit near to me (using the standard 1metre cable) and then use a 3 or 5 metre optical cable to link from my media player > JVC unit instead of extending the cable on the headphones

would this be feasable ?
