i've had my 535's for what must be around 14-15 years, but a unified child and dog attack has finally killed them off and i find myself in need of a replacement.

my listening tastes are still very varied (one of the reasons i got the 535's in the first place), ranging from satyricon and emperor, down through metallica and iron maiden, with a quick detour via glen campbell and van morrison, ending up at current fav. vv brown. what i need is a good set of cans that will be able to handle all the different genres of music i throw at them.

while my musical tastes haven't changed, my way of listening has. the seperates system i once owned has gone, and most of my listening is done with an mp3 player.

ideally what i'm after is a pair of easy to drive, mp3 friendly headphones in the £70-£100 region that sound pretty much like my old 535's did in their prime.

the only proper audiophile shop in my area shut down years ago so it would be a trip of 50 miles+ to audition new cans which is why i'll be buying online.

i'm not set on any particular make, but would also happily get another set of sennheisers.
