Re: best headphones for onkyo

THe best headphones are the one's you like the most. Some don't like the Senn sound and find it too laid back - even if they are very good phones.

Always audition if you can, it will tell you far more than others opinions.

hifi receivers and amps usually have plenty of power for the HD600, but the variability comes in the headphone out stages; even really good ones can have cheap parts, and these can let them down. You never know til you try it.

Don't know about the blu ray, can you use it as a CDP? Even so, I'd have thought they're designed more with video in mind, so a dedicated CDP is likely to have a better decoding stage for audio. Again, you can only try.

Re: best headphones for onkyo

I found my HD 600s lacking on a JVC AVR, when I matched it with my G&W F-2.6F Valve SS hybrid headphone amp, I found the cans really had shine to them, both in bass and treble/midrange.
These cans are hard to drive, they are 300 Ohm, the 595s are easier to drive.
Go listen to them and see what you think, plus there are plenty more Headphones out there that will do you justice..
