I am a pensioner with the usual old age problem I am going deaf.

In order to watch TV I need the sound way up high which is annoying my wife who is not as deaf as I am.

My son suggests that I buy a wireless headphone but what I need to know2 is how does it work from the TV what else do I need and where does it plug in ?

Any help would be appreciated

ive a wireless set of sennheiser (sorry may be spelt wrong) we use them at night when i want to watch a film in bed and the wife wants to sleep (or she wants to watch and i want to sleep) there very easy to set up you will get in the box power supply, transmitter box, cable to go from transmitter to tv and the headphones, to set up its as easy as (so you will have nothing else to buy)

1/ plug cable in headphone jack on tv and into transmitter
2/ plug mains power to the transmitter
3/ insert batteries into headphones (3 x aaa in my case)
4/ turn on transmitter and headphones
5/ tune them into each other (mines a case of turning a dial on my headphones)
6/ adjust volume to suit (mine is on the headphones too)

if you you look on play.com for sennheiser, the ones i use retail at £45 and have some good reviews on there.

It'd be useful in your circumstances because your wife can have the TV speaker as she prefers, and you can turn the headphones up

I stumbled upon this when i was searching for wireless headphones.
There are wireless headphones that are created for people with hearing loss and you can also use them as compliment for hearing aid(s). There is a company in USA that manufactures doctor recommended wireless tv headphones. These headphones uses a Technology which increases the volume for words that could be difficult to hear clearly. I don't own a pair myself but it could be worth checking out.
