NS1000 - hiss query

Hi All,

I have just bought a pair of Goldring NS1000s and the noise cancelling white noise 'hiss' is very clearly audible above the music until you get to mid to high volumes. It's really annoying and frustrating. Has anyone else experienced this? Does it 'bed in' after a bit of usage? Please advise.

Thanks,

T

Re: NS1000 - hiss query

Hiss is an issue. I found it gets slightly better with new or higher quality batteries. If you find that sound quality is otherwise compromised without noise cancelling, you may want to look at getting a headphone amp.

I tend to listen with NC on as the treble is enhanced, giving a more airy sound. A cheap amp like a FiiO e5 or CMOY works OK for driving the headphones in passive mode but you don't quite get the same treble quality. Bass can get quite muddy unamped in passive mode.
