Robust Headphone Recommendations Required

I am looking to pick up a couple of pairs of reasonably cheap and robust headphones. They will be used mainly by my children for watching DVDs in the car. Therefore, they do not need to provide top quality sound, but should be reasonably clear.

Closed back required to ensure they can hear just their own screens and do not distract the driver. They need to be pretty robust as you can imagine child use is not the most gentle. I did have a pair of Sennheiser PX200 but they did not last too long as the wire came loose where they connect to the headphone.

All suggestions gratefully received.

Cheers

Re: Robust Headphone Recommendations Required

I bought by little brother (11) some Sennheiser HD201 and they are pretty decent for their price (£10-15), they are closed back and seem quite sturdy.

Re: Robust Headphone Recommendations Required

Thanks for the response, the HD 201s look reasonable. My only concern is the few comments on some websites that the volume is quite low. They will often be used with Archos 705s, which have fairly low volume ranges and I fear they may be underpowered. Does anyone have any experience of this?

Robust Headphones

One of our most popular models for children is the Koss UR10. These headphones are very robust (the headband is nice and flexible) and the sound quality is surprisingly good for the price.

We're also in the process of adding a range of educational headphones to our range, which will include some very sturdy headphones designed for use in schools and colleges.
